Scanning Probe Microscopies and Organic Materials

The XVII workshop took place at Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany

from June 15. - 17. 2009

Starting with the first workshop in 1992 in Martinsried, the workshop series evolved into a platform where especially young scientists (young faculty, postdocs, PhD students, and MSc students) mainly from Germany and neighbouring countries can meet and exchange new results and ideas on the still rapidly growing field of Scanning Probe Microscopies (such as STM, AFM, SNOM) for organic materials (such as organic molecules, biomolecules, polymers, cells and tissues).

The Scientific Program includes the following SPM related topics:

  • STM, AFM, SNOM, electrochemical STM and other SPM techniques
  • SPM investigations on organic molecules, biomolecules, polymers, and cells
  • new SPM applications and technical developments
  • theoretical description and simulation of SPM experiments
  • SPM single molecule imaging and single molecule spectroscopy
  • SPM applications in bionanotechnology and biomaterials
  • SPM applications in organic electronics and organic materials

Several invited scientists will give a short overview of their field and report on their recent results. In addition there will be oral and poster contributions from participants. SPM-related companies will present their products and will be interested to discuss your possible applications.
